Awareness Months

  • Together WE Empower: Together WE Empower brings together organizations from around the area with a common goal: to bring awareness of domestic violence and expose the many resources available for victims and survivors.
  • What were you wearing: The exhibit showcased clothing that local victims were wearing when they became a victim to sexual assault. The purpose of the exhibit is to challenge thoughts that what a person is wearing is equivalent to consent. The clothing in the exhibit represents a range of ages and genders, showing exactly what the person was wearing when the act happened.
  • Denim Day: Denim Day Denim Day is a global campaign during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (April) where people wear jeans to protest misconceptions about sexual violence, support survivors, and educate others, stemming from a 1990s Italian court case where a rape conviction was overturned because the victim wore tight jeans, leading to women in parliament wearing denim in solidarity.
